Portable ENG transmission

NewsShark Plus

NewsShark is a compact portable ENG transmission system designed to mount beneath most ENG cameras with an industry-standard ¼-20 screw. The field unit weighs 1.3 lb (590 g) and measures 3⅜ × 5⅛ × 1¼ inches.

The system uses H.264 video and AAC audio encoding for transmission over cellular or Wi-Fi networks. DSI’s “Robustivity” feature adjusts image quality as available bandwidth changes. Separate low-bit-rate IFB feeds support talent and the camera operator.

Remote video backhaul

CameraShark

CameraShark is a compact, weatherproof, low-latency high-definition video codec system for remote video backhaul over cellular or Wi-Fi networks.

Applications include traffic and weather cameras, remote locations, surveillance, and video conferencing. H.264 encoding carries live video to a studio or monitoring point.

TMS-3000 camera system

The TMS-3000 combines studio control, remote-site control, data-network interfaces, a weather-tight camera enclosure, pan/tilt hardware, and an optional washer unit.

The UCS-1000 desktop controller provides camera movement and configuration controls for as many as 32 cameras. The BT-3000 handles site power, local control, communications, and component routing. The MXU-106 provides up to eight data ports and interfaces between the controller and customer network.

RF~IPMax microwave systems

RF~IPMax systems provide bidirectional IP microwave links for broadcast and telecommunications use, with licensed and unlicensed configurations for audio, video, data, control, VoIP, and related traffic. Unlicensed configurations operate in the 4.9–5.8 GHz bands, with software-keyed options for system expansion.

Applications include STL/TSL, inter-city relay, remote feed transport, newsgathering, WAN connectivity, backup links, security, conferencing, VPN, and remote control.

Custom antenna mounts

DSI RF provides mount design, drawings, professional engineering support, fabrication, interface hardware, and installation. Fixed and non-penetrating designs are available in steel, stainless steel, and aluminum, with bolted or welded connections and several finish options.

Protection systems

SS-103 surge suppression

The SS-103 grounding and suppression system is designed for mission-critical installations. Typical components include copper lightning rods, heavy-duty 2 AWG stranded copper ground cable, stainless mounting hardware, and suppressors for power, video, audio, RF, and data signals.

RF system monitoring

DAC broadcast RF monitoring

DAC end-to-end indoor and outdoor monitoring measures power and VSWR/return loss at selected points in an RF system. Remote access, retained measurements, and graphical analysis help identify changing system conditions and reduce unnecessary tower climbs.
